Dr. Edward Ofori received his Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences with a specialization in medicinal chemistry from Florida A&M University, and served as a postdoctoral researcher at Southern Research in Birmingham, Ala.

He earned a master’s degree in pharmaceutical analysis and quality control, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana and a Pharmacist by training.

He was an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Chicago State University and is currently an Associate Professor at Northern Ohio State University. Dr. Ofori’s research focuses on drug discovery of novel agents for schizophrenia, neuropathic pain, and cancer.

Importantly, he received multiple Teacher of the Year awards while at Chicago State University. He is an ardent advocate for public health education particularly in Mental Health.
